galenIQ™ 981 is a special type of pharmaceutical graded isomalt for sugar(free) coatings.
- Acts as coating agent in sugar(free) coatings
- Solubility 42 g/100 g solution at 20 °C in water
- Very low hygroscopic
- Low coating process temperatures
- Narrow particle size distribution
- Moderate coating times
- Very smooth surface due to crystallization properties
- High chemical and temperature stability – no inversion
- Good dissolution properties
- Provides pleasant sweet taste
- Cariostatic and low glycemic/insulinemic
- Non-animal origin and GMO free

a) Sugar(free) Coatings- galenIQ™ 981 replaces sucrose in sugar coatings in a 1:1 ratio
- Protection of centre against light, humidity and friction
- Covers unpleasant off-taste of API’s – pleasant initial taste before tablet is swallowed

b) Liquid Dosage Forms- e.g. sucrose replacement in syrups (up to 10%; limitation based on solubility)
