Pellets, sticks, gum balls and dragées can all be manufactured with ISOMALT.
ISOMALT’s low solubility enables it to retain its crystalline form in the chewing gum mass and thus give the chewing gum a more resilient texture. Its low solubility also improves sweetness retention and flavour enhancement. Adding flavoured ISOMALT crystals to a gum base can achieve a long-lasting flavour effect. ISOMALT GS is especially suited for gum coating. Dragées made with ISOMALT GS stand out with a perfect and smooth face, a pleasant mouth feel and an outstanding, long-lasting flavour release. The dragée face produced with ISOMALT has an ideal sweetness and a very good crunch.
With its excellent compactability, ISOMALT DC is an optimal choice for manufacturing direct-compressed gum bases, allowing them to be produced on standard tablet moulding presses. Moreover, because their production processes do not require a temperature increase, gum bases made with ISOMALT DC allow the handling of active ingredients, which are temperature-sensitive. Such processing is extremely attractive for products positioned in the functional food sector.
